Major General Rukmal Dias bids Farewell from Volunteer Force of Sri Lanka Army
2019-04-24Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force relinquished the appointment of Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force amidst formal military honours on 24 April 2019.
A series of formalities observed in connection with the relinquishment of the appointment commenced with the reviewing of the Guard Turnout accorded to the outgoing Commandant on arrival to the venue. Subsequently, the Chief Guest of the day took the Salute of the parade accorded to him in keeping with military traditions.
The Chief Guest of the day declared open the monument with 130mm Field Gun at the invitation of Major General L F Kasthuriarachchi KSV Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and a large gathering of Officers and soldiers attended the occasion.
