26 Anniversary of 7th Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery
2014-11-127th Light Regiment was proudly celebrated their 26 Anniversary from 6 - 12 Nov 14 at Regimental Headquarters Kokavil. The celebration was commenced with customary religious activities by honoring the regimental traditions. Bodhi Pooja and newly constructed temple was declared open along with planting of Boo Tree on 6 Nov 14. Hindu Kovil Pooja held on 7 Nov 14 at Murukkandi Kovil. Commemoration of fallen war heroes of the Regimental family was observed at the Gunners’ Memorial Statue in Panagoda on 8 Nov 14.
Commanding Officer received salute on the newly constructed saluting dais and renovated parade square at Kokavil. The celebration was further illuminated by all ranks lunch, WOs and Sgts’ mess party, all rank Get-Together and officers’ Get-Together. Along with the 26th Anniversary newly constructed main gate, guard room and saluting dais were declared open by the Commanding Officer on 10 Nov 14.
