Artillery Officers Excursion - 2017
2017-07-14Artillery officers' excursion was held at Diyathalawa, Hortan plains and Nonperial from 9 to 11 July 2017. More than 50 Artillery Officers including Senior Officers were participated. The excursion was aimed to enhance the comradeship, cooperation and spirit de corp among Gunner Officers. The excursion was organized with a direction of Colonel Commandant and the Centre Commandant. 6 SLA has organized the event in a precise manner. Officers started the Journey at am hrs on 09 July from RHQ SLA and on reaching Diyathalawa a Field Lunch was arranged at "Wadula", SLMA premises. In the evening Football Match was arranged in Polo ground area. Brig Nanda Hathurusinghe has given a brief introduction about the Golf with a small practical lessens. At night a "Camp Fire" was organized at Foxhill area where officers were able to enjoy the salubrious weather in Foxhill.
On 10th July Officers were moved to Hortan Plains and to the Worlds' End. At pm hours dip in a cold water arrange at the Gamunu Watch R & R Centre at Nonperial Estate. An officers gathering was organize at night and presence of Maj Gen Rukmal Dias and other senior gunner officers added glamour to the evening. The aim of the excursion was well achieved and on 11th July Officers were departured to the respective working places on completion of a wonderful excursion.
