18th Reinforcement Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery

18th Reinforcement Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery was raised on 29 July 2008 at the School of Artillery - Minneriya for the continuation of the Humanitarian Operation. Initially it was formed with 08 Officers and 480 Other Ranks. The first Commanding Officer of 18 (RFT) SLA was Lieutenant Colonel WDJRW Warnakula RSP SLA. 18 (RFT) SLA consisted of 181 Battery, 183 Battery and 184 Battery.

18 (RFT) SLA was operating under 57 Division for the purpose of dominating the ground. This Regiment was performing Infantry role and established at Manner in order to provide flank protection for the Infantry Troops who were advancing to save the Manner Town.

After completion of Wanni Humanitarian Operation, 18 (RFT) SLA was disbanded on 29 February 2012 and Officers and Other Ranks were posted to 16 (RFT) SLA and other Artillery Regiments
