COLONEL COMMANDANT’S VISIT TO 11TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY (RFT)

The Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, made the visit to 11th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) on 10 March 2025. Maj Gen BGS Fernando USP Hdmc psc – GOC 55 Inf Div, Brig TAGI Ariyarathna RSP IG – Commander, Artillery Brigade, Col NC Lokugalappaththi IG - Centre Commandant, Regimental Headquarters, Sri Lanka Artillery also participated to the official visit with Colonel Commandant.

The Senior Officer was accorded with a Guard Turnout and was welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col BMR Ferdinandesz psc IG SLA. The visit was unfolded with planting of a sapling, group photograph, COs' briefing, troop address, camp visit and interactive session at Officers’ mess of 11 SLA followed by the lunch. At the end of the troop address, a memento was presented to the Colonel Commandant by the Commanding Officer and all ranks of 11th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) to mark his visit to 11 SLA (RFT), and the program was concluded by penning remarks in the visitors' book.

During the visit, a newly constructed house was ceremonially handed over to a low-income family in Selvary village, Thalaimannar, under the noble guidance of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch. Mrs. Vindya Premarathna, the President of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch was the Chief Guest of the inauguration event. The house, valued over Rs. 1.8 million, was constructed by the dedicated troops of the 11th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery. The entire project was generously funded by Lt Col ARS De Silva RSP USP psc IG and one of the members Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Mahesha Jayasinghe along with her well-wishers, whose kindhearted contribution helped bring a new hope and stability to a deserving family in need.
