ASSUMED DUTIES COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 6 FIELD REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY
2025-05-15Lt Col E B R M P S K Edirisinghe RSP psc IG SLA assumed duties as the 25th Commanding Officer of the 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 14 May 2025 at Panagoda.
The newly appointed Commanding Officer formally assumed duties during a ceremonial programme conducted in accordance with military tradition. The proceedings commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout and followed by a brief religious observance, signifying the spiritual sanctification of the occasion. The Commanding Officer placed his signature on the official document, thereby symbolising the formal assumption of command.
As part of the day’s proceedings, a ceremonial planting of a guava sapling was conducted at the Panagoda camp, marking a gesture of growth and continuity. The day’s events concluded at the Veyangoda camp premises with an All Ranks Tea and a troop address, during which the Commanding Officer conveyed his vision and expectations to the troops under his command.
