The Graduation Ceremony - YOC 50
2025-06-14Nine young officers have stepped in to the family of professional Gunners on 14 June 2025, after successful completion of the Young Officers' Preparatory Course - 50, conducted from 15 March 2025 to 14 June 2025 at the School of Artillery, Minneriya.
Major General K A U Kodituwakku RSP USP psc IG, the General Officer Commanding - 11 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Commander Artillery Brigade, Commandant School of Artillery, Commanding Officers, Senior officers, Staff officers and representatives from all Regiments were presented for the glamorous event. To mark the culmination of the course, the young officers delivered a comprehensive presentation on "The role of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery during the Wanni phase of the Humanitarian Operation." This was followed by the customary graduation ceremony.
All nine officers successfully completed the course, with Captain B L Amarathunga SLA of the 9 SLA securing first place in the order of merit. In recognition of his outstanding overall performance and he was awarded the prestigious "Silver Gun."
