COLONEL COMMANDANT’S VISIT TO 6TH FIELD REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY
2025-06-20The Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc visited the 6th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 20 June 2025. He was accompanied by Brig TGIA Ariyarathna RSP IG – Commander Artillery Brigade, and Col SMRSG Asmadala RSP USP IG – Overlooking Centre Commandant, Regimental Headquarters, Sri Lanka Artillery.
The Senior Officer was ceremonially received with a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col EBRMPSK Edirisinghe RSP psc IG SLA. The itinerary commenced with a comprehensive briefing by the Commanding Officer, followed by an address by the Colonel Commandant, highlighting the essential qualities soldiers should possess. A group photograph was then taken to mark the occasion.
To further commemorate the visit, a ceremonial tree planting was conducted, symbolising growth and an enduring legacy. The program continued with an all ranks tea, a detailed field visit and an engaging interactive session at the Officers’ Mess of 6 SLA. The day concluded with a fellowship lunch, fostering camaraderie among the officers.
As a token of appreciation, a memento was respectfully presented to the Colonel Commandant by the Commanding Officer and all ranks of the 6 SLA. The memorable occasion concluded with the Senior Officer penning his reflections and appreciation in the Visitors' Book, marking the end of a dignified and inspiring visit.
