NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 61 INFANTRY DIVISION ASSUMED DUTIES
2025-07-01Major General WSV Fernando USP ndc IG assumed duties as the 21st General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division on 01 July 2025 at the Headquarters 61 Infantry Division - Boossa amidst formal military traditions.
Upon his arrival he was warmly welcomed by the Colonel GS and Colonel AQ 61 Inf Div to the camp premises by offering him a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour.
Then the Senior Officer placed his signature in formal document symbolizing the assumption of duties. Further, the programme was included the planting of a sapling to mark the occasion, Group photograph, a troop address, all rank tea party and Interactive season and lunch with all officers of 61 Inf Div AOR.
