The Artillery Brigade marked its Wednesday Training Day in conjunction with the 78th Independence Day
2026-02-04The day was comprised with a series of events reflecting discipline, unity, environmental responsibility, and community service.
The programme commenced at 0600 hrs with a Morning Physical Training Parade at the Artillery Complex Premisses followed by the distribution of herbal porridge to promote the health and wellbeing of troops.
In keeping with Independence Day traditions, a solemn Flag Hoisting Ceremony was conducted, reaffirming the Brigade’s commitment to the sovereignty and unity of Sri Lanka.
Under the guidance of Brigadier TGIA Ariyarathne RSP IG, The Commander Artillery Brigade, a Tree Plantation Campaign was carried by planting 100 saplings within the Brigade premises, contributing to environmental sustainability. The day concluded with a Shramadana campaign at the sacred Minneriya Dewalaya and Minneriya Tank Bund, where troops conducted a cleaning and beautification, demonstrating the Sri Lanka Army’s strong Civil–Military Coordination spirit.
