Commander of the Army Visits Artillery Complex - Minneriya
2026-02-21Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, made an official visit to the Artillery Complex, Minneriya on 20 February 2026.
Upon arrival, he was warmly received by Maj Gen Nilantha Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, along with Senior Officers. In accordance with military traditions, the Commander of the Army was accorded a drive past at the main entrance.
During the visit, the Commander ceremonially declared open the renovated Gun House and the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess.
Subsequently, he opened the newly established Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant at the School of Artillery, enhancing essential facilities for the troops.
The Commander of the Army also participated the all ranks tea party and interacted with Officers and Other Ranks at the Minneriya Complex.
The visit concluded with a dinner at the Officers' Mess, Minneriya with the Commander and Senior Officers, Officers presented at the occasion.
