Donation of Dry Ration and Daily Essential Packs to the Female patients undergoing the treatments in Apeksha Hospital Maharagama.
2026-03-07In line with the event schedule of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit for the month of March, the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch conducted a donation programme for the patients undergoing treatment in the female ward of Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama on 06 March 2026, in conjunction with the International Women's Day celebrations.
The donations consisted of two categories: dry ration packs and daily essential packs.
The dry ration packs included rice (5 kg), sugar (1 kg), dhal (1 kg), wheat flour (1 kg), noodles (1 kg), a packet of soya meat, tea powder (100 g), and a packet of jelly.
The daily essential packs included a pillow, bedsheet, towel, bundle of paper serviettes, sanitary items, a bottle of cologne, and a bottle of sanitizer.
The programme also included a brief entertainment segment for the patients, followed by the distribution of the donation packs, evening tea, and soup for 80 patients.
This event was conducted under the supervision of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General KVNP Premaratne, and the President of the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, Vindya Premaratne, whose presence graced the occasion.
Senior Officers, Officers, members of the Sri Lanka Artillery, and members of the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch participated in this meaningful event.
Through this humble gesture of care and generosity, the Sri Lanka Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch shared a message of hope and encouragement with the patients. In line with the values celebrated on International Women's Day, the event reminded everyone that kindness and support can brighten even the most challenging moments in life.
