Commemoration of the First Commanding Officer

Marking the commencement of the 138th Anniversary celebrations of the Regiment of Artillery, a solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held in honour of the First Commanding Officer, Colonel C.E.H. Symons VD, at the General Cemetery, Borella, on 04 April 2026.

The tribute was paid as a mark of enduring respect and gratitude for his invaluable contributions and visionary leadership in laying the foundation of the Regiment.

The Centre Commandant, Deputy Centre Commandant, Staff Officer I (Admin), Senior Officers, staff Officers and the Regimental Sergeant Major were present at the ceremony, reaffirming the Regiment’s enduring commitment to honour its legacy and uphold the proud traditions of the Sri Lanka Artillery.
