Commander Artillery Brigade pays Official visit To 9th Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery

The Commander, Artillery Brigade, Brigadier DMPU Dissanayake RSP USP IG, paid an official visit to the 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, Sinhapura, on 18 May 2026, following his assumption of duties as the Commander, Artillery Brigade. Upon arrival at the regiment, he was warmly received by the Officiating Commanding Officer, Major DLCAK Lekamge IG SLA, and was accorded a Guard Turnout in honour of his visit.

The programme featured several significant events, including a group photograph, the planting of a sapling, and a troop address delivered by the Brigade Commander. Thereafter, the Officiating Commanding Officer briefed the Commander, Artillery Brigade, on the present responsibilities and operational aspects of the unit. The briefing was followed by a camp visit, during which the Brigade Commander observed the regiment’s facilities and ongoing activities.

The visit also included an all-ranks tea, where the Commander, Artillery Brigade, had cordial interactions with officers, soldiers, and members of the civil staff. The occasion concluded with Brigadier DMPU Dissanayake RSP USP IG penning his reflections in the visitors’ book, leaving a message of encouragement and vision for the future progress of the 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery.
