Artillery Complex Minneriya Celebrates Vesak Festival 2026

The Artillery Complex, Minneriya, celebrated the Vesak Festival 2026 in an atmosphere of religious harmony and devotion under the direction of the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and the supervision of the Commander, Artillery Brigade on Vesak Poya Day on 30 May 2026.

In commemoration of this sacred occasion, the troops of the Gunner Family and the SLEME (Artillery) Battalion organized a Bodhi Pooja ceremony at the temple premises within the Artillery Complex, Minneriya. A Kadala Dansala was also conducted in front of the Gunners’ Club embodying the Buddhist values of generosity, compassion and community service while providing refreshments to devotees and visitors.

Colonel G K Paranavitana RSP psc IG, Commandant of the School of Artillery, together with Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and the SLEME (Artillery) Battalion, participated in the meritorious event. The celebration served as a meaningful occasion to foster spiritual reflection, strengthen camaraderie and uphold the rich cultural and religious traditions associated with the Vesak Festival.
