Gunners’ Celebrated its 124th Anniversary

One of the oldest Regiments in the Army, Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, more popularly known as ‘Gunners’ marked its 124th anniversary starting with Commemorative Ceremony on 19 April 2012. The day’s commemorative events took place at the Artillery Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

The Chief Guest, Commander of the Army, Lt Gen Jagath Jayasuriya and President Army Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya were welcomed by Colonel Commandant, Major General JC Rambukpotha.

Gunners of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery accorded a Guard Turn Out to the Commander of Army.

The Commander of the Army later laid a flower wreath at the Sri Lanka Artillery War Heroes monument. Parents, spouses and the next of kin of fallen heroes also paid floral tributes at the monument.
