Maj Gen KNS Kotuwegoda ndc IG assumed office as the 21st Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery
2020-10-29Major General KNS Kotuwegoda ndc IG assumed office as the 21st Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 29th October 2020 in a grandiose ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
Commencement of the ceremony marked by laying a flower wreath to the fallen war heroes at the Regimental Monument who made supreme sacrifice to the Motherland. A Guard turnout and Guard of honour was awarded to the incoming Colonel Commandant by the Troops of the Regiment of Artillery.
As a symbolic gesture of taking over the command, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda placed his signature to a formal document in the presence of Council members, Commanding Officers, other officers and staff of the RHQ after a brief religious rituals and lighting of the traditional oil lamp. The day's events also textured with the all ranks tea party at RHQ SLA premises followed by Officers address by the Colonel Commandant at Officers' Mess followed by the lunch.
