Major General KNS Kotuwegoda ndc IG Took Over the Duties as Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force
2021-03-01Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda assumed duties as the 45th Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 28 February 2021 amidst formal military formalities at the Volunteer Force Headquarters premises at Kosgama. The day's proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout and Guard of honour accorded in his honour by the troops of SLAVF. As a symbolic gesture of taking over the duties, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda placed his signature to a formal document after a brief religious rituals and lighting of the traditional oil lamp. Subsequently, the senior officer planted a sapling to signify his inauguration of the office, followed by a Troop Address. The day's proceedings were concluded after all ranks tea.
