CEREMONIAL MEDAL AWARDING PARADE OF 14TH SLFPC IN UNIFIL CONCLUDED

The Ceremonial Medal Awarding Parade of 14th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) in UNIFIL, Lebanon was successfully conducted at 1600 hrs on 06 September 2023, at the Soedirman camp in Greenhill, Naquora. The parade consisted of a Colour party, foot column and mechanized column with the Ghana Battalion Army Band, was commanded by Lt Col Sampath Fernando USP of Sri Lanka Engineers.

On behalf of the Secretary General of United Nations, Head of the Mission and Force Commander (HOM & FC) of UNIFIL, Major General Aroldo Lazaro Saenz graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His Excellency the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Lebanon and Syria, Mr Kapila Susantha Jayaweera graced the event as a special Guest of Honour while the Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army, Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, Director General General Staff of Sri Lanka Army, Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc and Colonel Overseas Operations at the Directorate of Overseas Operations,Colonel P P C Perera psc participated the event representing the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. All the distinguished guests, UNIFIL members and Contingent Commanders was warmly welcomed by the Contingent Commander of 14th SLFPC, Lt Col D P L T Kaluaggala RSP USP IG SLA.
