GUNNERS EMERGED AS THE CHAMPIONS OF THE 57TH ARMY ROAD RACE - 2024
2024-02-28The 57th Army Road Race, in conjunction with the 58th Army Athletics Championship 2024, commenced from the Army Headquarters at 0600 hrs on 23 February 2024. The race covered a total distance of 21 km and terminated successfully at the APTS - Panagoda. The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery became champions among 24 Regiments. All the members of Gunner Family wishes to congratulate the Athletes and Officials who have brought glory to the Regiment. The Performances of the Gunners are as follows: 1. Third place: S/A100462 Bdr Shanmugeswaran K - 5 SLA (time - 1:08:03) 2. Fourth place: S/5A02987 S/Sgt Pushpakumara RMS - 5 SLA (time - 1:08:35) 3. Fifth place: S/ 164705 L/Bdr Alvis ABN - 6 SLA (time - 1:09:02) 4. Sixteenth place: S/159006 Sgt Somarathne TPB - 6 SLA (time - 1:11:36) 5. Twenty fourth place: S/158232 Sgt Ratnayake KAS - 6 SLA (time -1:12:43) 6. Fifty second place: S/5A02983 Bdr Shrimanna SAL - 5 SLA 7. S/164951 L/Bdr Hemantha AAMI - 6 SLA (Injured during the competition)
