THE REGIMENT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY ACHIEVED SUCCESS IN THE 8TH ARMY RELAY CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2024
2024-03-15The Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment achieved an impressive 47 points at the 8th Army Relay Championship held on March 12, 2024, at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama. SLA 4x200m relay team set a new Island record with a remarkable timing of 1:22.93, which added to the glory of the event. In addition, our team players secured the 2nd place in the 4x800m event and the 3rd place in the 4x1500m event, while also sealing the 1st place in the Medley Relay. These remarkable achievements were made possible due to the sheer dedication of all athletes and coaches of the Regiment. Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG, the Commandant of the Defence Services and Staff College, and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery. The Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Gunner Tribe provided unwavering support to our athletes and played a crucial role in motivating and cheering them on. All members of the Gunner Family congratulate the athletes and officials who brought glory to the Regiment.
