FAREWELL CEREMONY TO MAJOR GENERAL W CHANDRASIRI RSP USP psc
2024-04-22Gunner family bid farewell to Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc on 19 April 2024. Farewell formalities were held at the Artillery Regimental Centre, Panagoda as per Gunners' customs and rich traditions.
The ceremony began with laying a flower wreath at the Regimental Monument in honour of the fallen war heroes. The Troops of the Regiment accorded a Guard turnout and a Farewell Parade to Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc. The WOs’and Sgts’ Mess held a lavish tea in honour of the retiring General.
The day’s events were concluded with a Guest Night hosted by the Officers of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery at the Officers’ Mess Panagoda. The Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Senior Officers, Officers and their ladies were present.
