Gunners Remember Fallen Heroes
2013-04-18The Regiment of Artillery paid tribute to all members of the Gunner family who gave their lives for the sake of motherland in a spectacular commemorative ceremony held at the Regimental Monument at Panagoda on 18 April 2013. The Chief Guest, Commander of the Army, Lt Gen J Jayasuriya VSV USP ndu psc and President Army Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya were welcomed by Major General JC Rambukpotha RSP USP ndc psc IG Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery. Lt Gen J Jayasuriya VSV USP ndu psc laid a wreath of flower to honour the fallen heroes. A large number of family members paid floral tribute in honour of gunners who paid the supreme sacrifice. Over 100 retired artillery officers too attended the event.
