Sergeant Asela Gunaratne Promoted on Merit
2017-03-01National Cricket Player Sergeant Asela Gunaratne has been promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer Class II by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army due to his exceptional recent performances.
Senior Non Commissioned Officer who joined the Army in the year 2007 as a soldier & thereafter represented Regiment & Army Cricket Team. He had been very successful in his 1st class cricket career which earned him to represent National A team in the year 2013 and thereafter in the National Cricket Team.
He is Second Gunner to represent Sri Lanka in all formats of the game of cricket after Lieutenant Ajantha Mendis.
