Senior Gunner Officers awarded with Prestigious Vishishta Seva Vibhushanaya (VSV) medal
2018-05-19To coincide with the National War Heroes' Day, His Excellency, the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, awarded the prestigious Vishishta Seva Vibhushanaya (VSV) decoration to following senior Gunner Officers, which recognizes their unblemished service to the nation during a dignified ceremony at the Presidential Secretariat on 19 May 2018.

Amidst a gathering of distinguished invitees, including State Minister of Defence, Secretary to the President, Defence Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff, Tri-Service Commanders, and several others, President awarded the VSV Medal that recognizes the outstanding and unblemished service of 25 years of service. The Medal is also considered the highest military decoration and a tribute that can be achieved during the course of an officers career.
